After already encountering thousands of fans at the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago for a meet-and-greet session on July 22 with costar Jason Earles, Emily Osment took on another horde of supporters. This time, however, she was on her own. Although she plays a supporting role on the Disney series Hannah Montana, Emily Osment proved she has her own following when her crowd-pulling charm attracted about 5,000 shrieking fans at Steamtown Mall last Saturday.
A line of several people extended out of the jam-packed mall down to Lackawanna Avenue, where it snaked though the state office-building parking lot. According to mall officials, the crowd far exceeded the 3,500 fans that turned out to see The Office’s Rainn Wilson in May.

Miley is in the studio recording a new song with her dad and Lilly. She asks Miley to record a special song for her mom’s birthday since she spent the money on shoes. Miley says the only way the song will be special is if Lilly sings herself. There’s only one problem: Lilly can’t sing! Miley plays the song for Oliver and he’s never heard a song so bad. She switches out Lilly’s song for a mixed version that makes her sound good, thanks to the magic of sound editing.

‘Hannah Montana’ Actor Releases New Album
Posted on 9 August 2007 » 2 Comments
Billy Ray Cyrus, who rocketed in the music scene in 1992 with “Achy Breaky Heart,” has slightly pushed back his music career into the backseat with the emergence of his acting career that now leads to his role on the Disney sitcom Hannah Montana. On the other hand, it doesn’t mean that his music career is over. In fact, he has just released a new album called Home At Last, which marks his first album venture with Walt Disney Records and Columbia Records.
Just two days ago, Billy Ray Cyrus returned to his hometown in Kentucky to sign autographed copies of his newest CD at the local Wal-Mart. His music comeback resulted to more than 2,000 people flocking to the establishment long before the advertised signing time of 6pm. Along with the promotion of his new album, he also performed at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, Kentucky, which was the same place he performed and filmed his very first music video “Achy Breaky Heart” 17 years ago.

Hannah Montana Film In Development
Posted on 12 July 2007 » 0 Comments
Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus recently set a record for being the youngest artist to have two chart-topping albums in under a year. To add to her remarkable success, the 14-year-old singer and television actress is now set on making her mark in the film industry.
Cyrus attended the Sunday premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and while there, she told MTV News that a film adaptation of her hit series is being planned out.
“Now we’re figuring out ideas for the Hannah Montana movie,” she said. “And yes, it’s for the theaters, so hopefully I’ll see you there.”
Miley Cyrus, who plays Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on Disney’s hit show, also revealed that her co-star and father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is set to produce the film.
“He’s never done anything like this before, but my dad is ready to take on new challenges,” she said.
Since writers are still working on the script, Cyrus is free to share whatever ideas she may have for the upcoming project. She said that, so far, the best concept she has thought of involves going back to her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
“The best idea is that I miss home,” Miley Cyrus said. “So if we could maybe film in Nashville and everyone could see our house and where we live, that we have a farm, that would be really exciting.”
Since Hannah Montana is taped at Tribune Studios in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Cyrus spends most of her time away from her beloved home. She spends up to eight and a half hours a day working on the set, but her hours could get longer once she becomes a legal adult.
Although no other specifics regarding the film have come out, Billy Ray Cyrus was generous enough to share with MTV some general details about the script. “There’ll be a lot of similarities [to the show], and the fact that Miley is so real, her music is real, we’ll keep a lot of that realism,” the 45-year-old country artist revealed. “But I think we’ll go a little further with the comedy. And it’s going to be on the big screen, so we’ll try to make everything look bigger.”
T.I. Still Billboard King: T.I. Vs. T.I.P. Is MC’s Second #1 Debut
Posted on 12 July 2007 » 14 Comments

Consider for a moment the kind of pressure Grammy-winning rapper T.I. must have faced during the recording of his latest opus, T.I. vs. T.I.P. His previous release, 2006’s King, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s albums chart, moving more than 522,000 units during its first week of commercial release. The LP earned the distinction of being one of the year’s top sellers, and it was far and away the best-selling hip-hop offering of 2006, with nearly 1.6 million copies sold.
T.I. knocks last week’s #1, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus — the latest release from pop artist Cyrus, star of the Disney Channel original series “Hannah Montana” — to #2. The disc sold 187,600 copies, falling 42 percent from last week, according to the latest SoundScan totals.
Disney’s Hollywood Records turns around
Posted on 12 July 2007 » 0 Comments
Walt Disney Company’s Hollywood Records had been one of the most underperforming record labels backed by a large corporation until recording stars like Hilary Duff and lately Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) have delivered blockbuster sales. This past week, the dual CD Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus debuted number one on the Billboard 200 besting Kelly Clarkson, the American Idol star. Globally, CD sales have fallen while Hollywood Records have increased due to Disney’s marketing to children and preteens on the Disney Channel.
The turnaround for the company has been mainly credited to Music Group Chairman Bob Cavallo who was hired in 1998. “Hollywood Records was worse than a startup record company,” Cavallo said. “It was the most maligned record company in recording history.”
Kelly Clarkson Loses Billboard #1 To Hannah Montana
Posted on 8 July 2007 » 0 Comments

Months of rumors that label boss Clive Davis was so dissatisfied with My December that he didn’t want to release it couldn’t prevent America’s first “Idol,” Kelly Clarkson, from selling more than 291,000 copies of her latest LP. But did the flurry of negative press play a role in where Clarkson’s third studio effort debuts on next week’s Billboard albums sales chart?
Well, that’s hard to say with any certainty. Clarkson’s December faced fierce competition in Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, a two-disc set from Cyrus, the actress/singer — and daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus — who portrays Miley Stewart, an average teenager who leads a double life as a famous pop singer, on the Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana.”
The first “Hannah Montana” soundtrack, which hit stores in October, also debuted at #1, selling 281,000-plus copies, to become the eighth-best-selling album of 2006, with nearly 2 million copies sold (see ” ‘Hannah Montana’ Holds Billboard #1; K-Fed’s Tough Week Continues”). Given that victory and Clarkson’s sales record, the #1 position could have gone to either artist. But in the end, it was Cyrus who generated 33,000 more scans, claiming a second-straight chart-topping debut for the “Hannah Montana” franchise.
According to the latest SoundScan figures, Miley’s double-disc release sold close to 325,600 units, leaving Kelly in the proverbial dust. Clarkson’s first-week sales top that of her previous effort, 2005’s Breakaway — which opened at #3 with 250,400 scans — but fell short of her inaugural offering, 2003’s Thankful, which debuted at #1 with 297,400 sold.
For the Miley Cyrus franchise, ‘Hannah Montana’ is just the start
Posted on 8 July 2007 » 8 Comments

MILEY CYRUS doesn’t look like a mouse. Or a befuddled bear. Or even a princess. But make no mistake, like Mickey, Winnie the Pooh and Snow White before her, she is a Disney franchise.
Cyrus is the star of “Hannah Montana,” a Disney Channel half-hour sitcom following the travails of Miley Stewart, a young girl living in Malibu who also happens to be pop star Hannah Montana. Costarring real-life Dad Billy Ray Cyrus and consistently featuring a wish list of costars including Dolly Parton and Larry David, “Hannah Montana” is one of the top-rated kids’ shows of all time (in 2006, it was second only to “American Idol” among kids 6 to 14). Cyrus’ first album, the 2006 “Hannah Montana” soundtrack, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart (a first for a TV soundtrack), sold more than 280,000 copies in its first week and subsequently went double-platinum. Her second album, a two-disc set titled “Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus,” was released June 26 and beat out Kelly Clarkson’s new album to be No. 1, selling 326,000 copies.
There is, of course, a feature film in the works.

Hannah Montana Lifts Disney Ratings
Posted on 28 June 2007 » 0 Comments
Non-ad-supported Disney Channel won cable’s weekly prime-time ratings race, averaging 3.13 million total viewers, thanks in large part to a well-received Hannah Montana doubleheader.
A new installment of the Disney original series served up a whopping 7.38 million viewers and 3.4 million ‘tweens 9-14 Sunday night at 8:30 p.m., making it the most-watched episode in series history in terms of total viewership and the core demo.
An 8 p.m. Hannah repeat drew 5.98 million viewers that night, and the Mouse scared up another 4.84 million viewers on Friday night with its presentation of the 2003 theatrical Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over.
Crying at Hannah Montana
Posted on 28 June 2007 » 0 Comments

Like Hilary Duff five years ago, Miley Cyrus is one of those stars who exists on the periphery of your consciousness if you are older than 17, but is smack in the center of it if you are younger than 12.
Cyrus, who will be 15 in November, is the daughter of country star Billy Ray Cyrus and the star of “Hannah Montana,” an enormously successful tween television show on the Disney Channel about a “normal” teenage girl who has a secret life as a world famous pop star.
On Tuesday, she released “Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus,” a double album of material that is half Hannah Montana songs and half Miley Cyrus songs (not that she wrote any of them herself).
To promote it, she performed a free concert in the courtyard of the Hollywood & Highland mall on a sweaty Tuesday afternoon. Subtracting all the parents there, the average age of the fans that came to see her was around 8.
What is the sound of hundreds of 8-year-olds constantly prompted to scream for 25 minutes? Imagine the roar of a crowd at a Nickelback concert played back at high speed.
Cyrus is Olsen-twin skinny and twice as perky as Jessica Alba. She’s also creepily self-composed for someone who can’t even get a learner’s permit.
When the sound on her microphone went out for half of her opening song, she kept singing and wiggling and throwing her bony arms in the air as if everyone could hear her, never missing a beat. At least she wasn’t lip synching.
“Hey guys, I think you can hear me now, but I can’t hear you!” she said after the sound came back on. “I want to hear you make some noise!!”
That’s a better reaction than crumpling in despair or running off stage, but her cheerful “I’m-a-professional-I-can-handle-this” attitude does not necessarily guarantee a healthy future.
Britney Spears, who also famously got her start at Disney, used to entertain armies of little girls with eerie robo-girl confidence too. Come to think of it, so did Lindsay Lohan.
Maybe that’s why I started crying during her song “Life’s What You Make It.” It was a boring rock number like all five of the other ones she played, but this time two Disney backup dancers came on stage to help her out — swinging their long hair, big smiles plastered on their faces.
All that joyful energy being channeled into CD sales really got me down.
Suddenly everything seemed so poignant and pathetic: a 5-year-old girl sitting on her dad’s shoulders clutching a digital camera; a pudgy 9-year-old in a just barely not too short mini-skirt wavng a cardboard sign that read “I LOVE U MILEY” in the air; the little girl from Virginia who knew every word to the song; the 3-year-old shyly waving to the teenage superstar who couldn’t possibly see her.
So much excitement and promise now, but then what?

Destiny Hope “Miley” Cyrus (born November 23, 1992) is an American actress and singer. She is best known for starring as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel Original Series, Hannah Montana.
Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, Miley attended Heritage Middle School but she now has a private tutor. She grew up on her parents’ farm in the backwoods of Nashville. Cyrus is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia “Tish” Cyrus, and the granddaughter of the late Ron Cyrus and Ruth Ann Cyrus. She has two older half-brothers, Christopher Cody and Trace, an older half-sister, Brandi, a younger brother, Braison, and a younger sister, Noah Lindsey Cyrus, who is also an actress. She was named Destiny Hope because her parents thought that she would accomplish great things. Cyrus gained her nickname “Miley” because she kept smiling (”Smiley”) as a youngster. In an interview with USA Today, Miley was quoted as saying her faith is “the main thing” and is why she works in Hollywood. When interviewed by Parade, she added that she attends church regularly with her family. She also has many pets including horses, dogs, cats, fish and chickens..
Career
Cyrus became interested in acting while on the set of her father’s television series Doc, where she played the role of “Kylie”. In 2003, she played “Young Ruthie” on Tim Burton’s Big Fish and was credited as Destiny Cyrus. She was also featured in Rhonda Vincent’s music video for “If Heartaches Have Wings”, and appeared on Colgate Country Showdown with her father (who was hosting the television program).
Cyrus was only eleven years old when she originally auditioned for Disney for the part of the “best friend”; Disney Channel executives then judged her to be “too small.” According to Disney Channel Executive Vice President Gary Marsh, Cyrus was chosen for Hannah Montana because of her energetic and lively performance and was seen as a person who “loves every minute of life,”[10] with the “everyday relatability of Hilary Duff and the stage presence of Shania Twain.”[4] She had spent several years attempting to get rid of her southern accent, but in the end Disney wanted her to revive it.[11] Cyrus acts on the show (Hannah Montana) as the lead character Miley Stewart whose alter ego is the pop music sensation Hannah Montana, also fictional. The character Hannah Montana appears in real-life music as a fictional stage name for the actress on the show.
Cyrus’s first guitar was a Daisy Rock Guitar — the Stardust Series Acoustic Electric Pink Sparkle, and was made a spokesperson for the company in 2004. It was given to her by her parents from her father’s Country Music Television fan meet-and-greet, when she was twelve years old.
On June 22, 2006, a performance of a Hannah Montana concierto (featuring Cyrus as Hannah Montana) at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida was recorded for the Disney Channel. Cyrus is currently opening for The Cheetah Girls for 20 dates of their 39-city tour. Cyrus also acted in the Disney Channel Hannah Montana promotion, “Hannah Montana’s Backstage Secrets”, in which she acted as the fictional character Miley Stewart’s alter ego Hannah Montana in a fictional interview set in the show’s canon.
On October 24, 2006, Walt Disney Records released the Hannah Montana soundtrack to the Disney Channel Original Series Hannah Montana. The soundtrack included eight of the songs that Cyrus performed as Hannah Montana.
Cyrus also signed a four-album major record deal with Hollywood Records for own albums, and wrote or co-wrote all of the 12 songs on her upcoming album.

Miley Cyrus’ way more than ‘Montana’
Posted on 26 June 2007 » 3 Comments
Fourteen-year-old Miley Cyrus says that her success — as star of Disney Channel’s No. 1 show “Hannah Montana” and its soundtrack, the first TV soundtrack to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts — “took a lot of hard work.
“I know being successful requires that from watching my dad (country singer Billy Ray Cyrus) and watching everything with this show grow. I had to work hard to achieve this, and that showed. I didn’t just do all this for nothing,” the singer-actress says in an interview with the Daily News.
Cyrus has a new recording coming out — “Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus” — and the superstar tween plans to adhere to the same work ethic that has made her previous efforts so successful. “With my new album coming out, I’m hoping for the same effect,” Cyrus says.
To that end, she’ll be performing songs to promote “Hannah Montana 2″ — a two-disk set featuring both tunes from the TV series and more personal songs written by Cyrus herself — Tuesday at noon at Hollywood and Highland, 6801 Hollywood Blvd., in Hollywood.
Admission is free.

Sha la la la la, sha la la la la
You used to call me your angel
Said I was sent straight down from heaven
You know me closing your eyes
I love the way to felt so strong
I never wanted you to leave
I wanted you to stay here holdin’ me
I miss you, I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once in a while
And even though it’s different now
You’re still here somehow
My heart won’t let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you
Sha la la la la
I miss you
You used to call me your dreamer
And now I’m livin’ out my dream
Oh how I wish you could see
Everything that’s happenin’ for me
I’m thinking back on the past
It’s true that time’s flying by too fast
I miss you, I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once in a while
And even though it’s different now
You’re still here somehow
My heart won’t let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you
Sha la la la la
I miss you
I know you’re in a better place yeah
But I wish that I could see your face though
I know you’re where you need to be
Even though it’s not here with me
I miss you, I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once in a while
And even though it’s different now
You’re still here somehow
My heart won’t let you go
And I need you to know

Are you overloaded
Candycoated
Your lies are floating now
There’s a risk worth taking
A pain worth aching
On this hollow ground
Let go
Don’t go hold on to all of lifes hardest parts
When we pick a stop
Let’s keep on rockin
To the rhythm of our hearts
We can
We can break outta here
Jump on over there
Where the air is clearer
We can
We can forget the pain
Spendin our breaks
Become a broken chain
We are broken chains
Good and broken
Find the magic
Go and grab it
Your fate is in your hands
Come and find a reason to believe in
And just tell yourself we can
We can
We can break outta here
Jump on over there
Where the air is clearer
We can
We can forget the pain
Spendin our breaks
Become a broken chain
We are broken chains
Good and broken
Get out your seat
On your feet
Raise your hands
Feel the beet
Let it go
Lose control
Feel it in your soul
Don’t you know what you can do
If you have faith in you
Let’s not be invisible
There’s no where lyin
Let’s just go
We can
We can break outta here
Jump on over there
Where the air is clearer
We can
We can forget the pain
Spendin our breaks
Become a broken chain
We are broken chains
Good and broken
We can

It’s 6 am and I’m wide awake
Cuz I can’t stop thinking bout the stuff you were sayin
Me and I, I can’t let it slide
The papers not here yet
The suns not up
But I’m not afraid to tell you what I feel inside
I had one of those dreams that made it all so
Clear to me now
I got a whole new perspective
It’s so clear to me now
You can’t treat me that way
It appears to me how you tried to make me blame you
It was me who was bein the fake
So clear
Why did I smile when I hurt inside
Said I was okay when I knew it’s a lie
I wanted to believe in you
You took your chances
And one was me
So I’ll just forgive you
And set you free
I’m on my way
Yeah I’m steppin out of the haze
And it’s so
Clear to me now
I got a whole new perspective
It’s so clear to me now
You can’t treat me that way
It appears to me how long you tried to make me blame you
It was me who was bein the fake
So clear
I wanna put the past behind
Try and maybe I can find better days
Clear to me now
I got a whole new perspective
It’s so clear to me now
You can’t treat me that way
It’s so
Clear to me now
I got a whole new perspective
It’s so clear to me now
You can’t treat me that way
It appears to me how long you tried to make me blame you
It was me who was bein the fake
So clear
So clear
So clear
Suns going down on a Saturday
And I feel alright
I feel okay
Start All Over

I have to wonder if this wave’s too big to ride
Commit or not commit is such a crazy time
It’s sooner than I thought but you called me out
I lost control and there’s no doubt
I’m gonna start all over
Out of the fire and into the fire again
You make me want to forget
And
Start all over
Here I come straight out of my mind or worse
Another chance to get burned
And
Start all over
I’m gonna start all over
Fantastic and romantic
All a big surprise
You’ve got the warning hesitation pushed aside
It’s sooner than I want
But you caught my heart
I guess I’m ready now to start
I’m gonna start all over
Out of the fire and into the fire again
You make me want to forget
And
Start all over
Here I come straight out of my mind or worse
Another chance to get burned
And
Start all over
I’m gonna start all over
It’s so easy
You disrupt me
Can’t complain
It’s so easy
You disrupt me
Can’t complain
It’s so easy
You disrupt me
Can’t complain
It’s so easy…
I’m gonna start all over
Start all over
Out of the fire and into the fire again
You make me want to forget
And
Start all over
Here I come straight out of my mind or worse
Another chance to get burned
And
Start all over
Out of the fire and into the fire again
You make me want to forget
And
Start all over
Here I come straight out of my mind or worse
Another chance to get burned
And
